LOT
# 272 c1898
Cap Anson Presentation Bat - This
is in the exotic category. I've seen a number of these silver
presentation bats but don't recall any as nice as this. The
engraved illustration of Anson really makes it. Your average
bear won't be getting involved at this price range, but it's
fun to watch, reserved for the heavy hitters.

LOT
# 280 Early
folk art "Athletics" Baseball
Sign
-
I wouldn't say it's stunning, but it's good, and that's saying
a lot! Good 19th-early 20th century- baseball folk art is almost non existent, it's so
rarely offered. It's one of the best baseball folk art
pieces I've see on the market in 20 years

LOT
# 509 c1891 John Rogers
Football Statue One
of the best and most important football statues. John Rogers'
sons who played football for Yale posed for it. return |
|
LOT
#600 c1881
Earliest Lawn Tennis
Sheet Music. I've never seen or heard of tennis sheet music this
early, super rare, got the look return

LOT
# 513 12"
tall x 11" wide x 11" deep, plaster football player statue
titled: "The American Idol" - Very unusual and very well
done, by an obscure sculptor named William C. Both from
Chicago return |
|
LOT
# 275 c1880
13" Bisque Heubach
Baseball Batter Statue - These come in a larger version, this is the
13" tall. If you're into porcelain these are the classic
Victorian baseball statues to own.

LOT
# 92 V.
rare c1920 Babe Ruth
Studio Photograph - This is almost stunning, it's so great, never seen
another. Probably the best Ruth photo I've seen. return |
|
LOTS
# 466, 453, 460 Three boxing site posters - You have to understand boxing posters to
appreciate these. There are fight movie posters that look like
site posters, then there are the ultra rare actual site
posters that were issued by the promoter and posted within
traveling vicinity of the fight. The Dempsey Gibbons one is
probably the most exciting, since there are stories about the
fight, and it's Dempsey in his prime. Whereas the Johnson is
post prime and clearly a for profit, milk the fame kind of
bout. return |
