LAUNCH
PARTY
Held
at Walnut Creek Presbyterian
Church

925ChristianSingles.com
club has been holding parties, outings and once a month planning
meetings for about a year. Because of the success we've had, we decided
to take it to the next level with an official launch party on March 21st 2010. The
Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church was kind enough to allow us use of one
of their rooms to hold it in.
The
party was a potluck affair, and as you can see from the photos there was
an abundance of food, which typifies our gatherings. I would estimate
about 20-25 people attended the party, including those who came late.
After we ate we got down to business matters. We discussed that we are
partly made up of former True North members. Further we set forth our
purpose and goals and announced our Leadership Team seen below.

Generally
it was decided, for the time being, we will keep our current
status as that of being an informal group of friends who get together
for activities, worship and bible study, as opposed to being an
incorporated legal entity. Moreover we discussed our funding, or lack
thereof, and we took up a collection of monetary donations in the
$5.00-$10.00 range so we would have a kitty to start out with. The later
part of the meeting was pooling our ideas and thoughts on what kind of
events we wanted to have. There was no lack of ideas, and it seemed that
a number of suggestions involved railroad excursions and hiking. Our
Chairman Tim Todd encouraged the ideas that were mentioned and
individuals to take the initiative of organizing them. One of the last
things we agreed on was all events should start with a
prayer.
The
meeting was very successful, and a lot of things were covered. To
the point that towards the end, Tim had to try to limit discussion
times to try to get it all in within the set time frame. After the
official meeting part was concluded, people still hung out talking
and having a good time for about another hour. That's how a good
meeting should end! Enjoy the photos I took below, though some
came out fuzzy. -Carlton
